The Rise

What are you afraid of?
The crumbling of love?
The loneliness of night?
The work of fruitless toil?
Planting in barren soil?
Do you fear
That which you hold most dear?
What grips you with terror?
Will you amount to enough
When life becomes too tough?
Will you sink? Will you swim?
Is the light bright, or dim?
As the waves rise and swell
Can you say “it is well”?
Though six feet below ground
No longer lost, but found
Exile turned into Son
Battle waged, yet war won
There is no fear in death
In breathing your last breath
When you find the Treasure
You will know full pleasure
Are you willing to pay?
Lose yourself in the Way?
Seek the things high above.
He will sweep you up in love.
