Question: Do We Love?

So last week I wrote to you about the 1^st and 2^nd chapter of the First Letter of John found in the Bible.

What had stuck out to me in chapter 1 was that God is light and in Him is no darkness.

What had hit me while I read through the 2^nd chapter was that we are living in the “end times” the last days, and we need to be vigilant and awake, aware of false teachers, not falling into traps set by the enemy.

So, as I commented with chapter 1 and 2 last week, chapters 3 – 5 are also incredibly relevant for our lives in this world today.

What had stuck out to me in chapter 3 was that it says we can identify who is a Christ follower by how they act and if they love.

What had hit me in chapter 4 was that we are instructed to test every spirit- those that confess Jesus as the Christ are from God and those that do not are not. Pretty simple right? Oh, and love one another, darn it. Live in love, walk in love, treat others with love.

What sunk in from chapter 5 was Jesus is our way. In Jesus is eternal life, that is our gift from God.
