“Just Do it” – It’s Not Only for Nike

“Just Do it” – It’s Not Only for Nike

Sporting this comfy hoodie a friend gifted me some years ago with the embolden words “Just Do It”, caused me to rethink my position as a child of God.

When I ponder my natural bent, words like “hesitation” and “intimidating” and “unable” come to mind. I’m not the biggest risk taker, leaning more toward the safe and familiar than stepping into the great unknown. And in this current climate of hazy security, I’m ok with the directive to stay inside and...

Redeeming Isolation

Redeeming Isolation

The world is noisy.

Your house is noisy.

My head is noisy.

EVERYTHING IS NOISY!

I need a break.

Although, I will say, this has given me the opportunity to rewatch every Superman movie.

This pleased me – I love Superman!

We will have an opportunity to explore how Superman is a is a Christ-figure in the future.

In the meantime, I have become fascinated by Superman’s Fortress of Solitude.

Christ-centric

Christ-centric

Pandemic

What if you thought of it
as the Jews consider the Sabbath—
the most sacred of times?
Cease from travel.
Cease from buying and...

Waiting for Sunrise

Waiting for Sunrise

Sunrises are a myth.

I have never seen one, so I assume they don’t exist.

Well, that was true until one morning a couple months ago.

My grandmother had passed away and I was in the middle of preparing her funeral message. I didn’t quite finish the night before, so I set the alarm for 5:00am. 5:00am!!!

It was really dark when I rose. I broke the darkness of my office with my desk light and...

The Answer Is…

The Answer Is…

Jesus.

That is the answer folks and I’m sorry if it seems too simple or cliche or Sunday school but you think you’re mad? I just wrote an entire piece on how it’s okay not to have all the answers! Well, He is the answer, folks. He is the answer.

Let’s look at this in the Word. Every time someone asks Jesus or God an answer they say- Me.

Adam and Eve: ate fruit – aka: it’s about us not God.
God: no...
