Are You Really Pro-Life [Part 2]

If you who haven’t had a chance to check out part one, you can find it here or here. For the big changes that our country and the Church need to make, and I know a lot of people aren’t going to like this, we are going to have to spend money. Charitable giving from individuals, organizations, and churches to initiatives is vital. Giving is something we can’t possibly do enough of.
But it will also take taxpayer money in some...
REVIEW: Hosea

Let’s take a Bible quiz! What do you remember about the story of the prophet Hosea from the Old Testament? The loose summary may go something like this. Hosea was a prophet who God told to marry a prostitute. Does that sound familiar? This basic synopsis of this highly poetic, highly symbolic work of Old Testament prophecy shortchanges the beauty of this story quite a bit. The temptation to boil Hosea down to these basic story beats is understandable, but,...
When Engaging with an Antagonist

Why do I keep on going back?
I’ve repeatedly vowed to distance myself from the current soap box cyberspace when certain “discussions” turn south. It’s those times when very little listening is happening while much offensive jargon is being spewed, and fashioned for the sole purpose of “educating others”. This year has been a year of thorns; death, loss, brokenness, loneliness, abandonment.
And this year has been a year of roses too. Not the pretty ones from the greenhouse. No, the sturdy ones that hang on by a thread. The ones that are a bit beaten down and broken. The...
Skeptics + Doers

I see the church divided into two camps this year.
1- THE SKEPTICS. The critics.
2- And the doers. The people that risk it all for the gospel and put it out there, regardless of how they might be viewed.
I am so tired of the accusations within the Body of Christ. Taking up arms against each other for our opposing viewpoints! It’s like watching a beautiful bride stab herself repeatedly in the arm. Oh Lord Jesus.
Perhaps you, like me, have...
How to Move Mountains

Lao Tzu – the ancient mystic Chinese philosopher (how’s that for a title) – is quoted having said: “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”
Jesus – the Son of God, King of kings, Lord of Lords, and savior of the world (how’s that for a title) – is quoted saying: “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move.” Matthew 17:20
