This isn’t how I wanted to do this. I was hoping for something a bit more formal, maybe even triumphant and glorious like some kind of Oktoberfest closeout special. Alas, that was not to be. Hopefully, our most recent interview will be posted soon but, otherwise, this blog post marks the end of the Bite Size Theology podcast.
It’s been a mostly fantastic 2 years that I am so thankful for. I still can’t believe that you all listened to and read all of the stuff that the four of us (shout out to Coop) put out. First and foremost, I want to thank each and every one of you for supporting us and giving us a reason to keep recording. I also want to thank Chris Lawson and Everyday Exiles for giving a us a place to get started two-plus years ago. I thank God most of all for giving us this platform to spread the gospel and develop our theological voices in the public sphere.
As was probably clear to those who listened to our Extended Editions, one of the best parts of the podcast was reconnecting Aaron, John, and I after life had scattered us around the country. We shared a lot of laughs, a few tears, and far more beers than I would have guessed. If it was up to me, we’d keep doing this podcast and evolving in the coming months.
God had other plans, though. John and Aaron have teamed up with a church in Johnson City, TN to launch a new church plant in the Johnson City/Kingsport area called Depot City Church. If you’re interested in keeping up with them and supporting the plant, you can check them out here on Facebook.
You probably guessed it already, but a church plant doesn’t leave much time to also run a podcast. So, here we are. At the end of it all.
Our library of over 300 episodes will stay up until at least April. We’ve talked some about securing them on a hard drive but haven’t come to any firm answers on it. If we do, we’ll find a way to let you know about it. However, as I said earlier, with the exception of our interview with Chris Lawson from the Everyday Exiles Network, there will be no further new content on our channel. For our Patreon supporters, this also means that we will no longer be accepting donations on the site.
It’s with teary eyes and a heavy heart that I call this show to a close. Thanks again for the support and God bless each and every one of you.
Yours in Christ,
Sage and the Bite Size Theology team
