Were You There?

This week our church has been holding Vacation Bible School for the neighborhood. The team has a done a great job. My job was to do skits. I get asked to do skits a lot. So this time around, I did something a little different. I asked my kids to do the skits with me.

It’s been so fun.

Here is us as the Tres Amigos

Man. I’ve done a lot of program in my life, but doing it with your kids takes programming to whole ‘nother level.

We also did this “News Show” where Anna Rose was a Pet Educator and David was a Meteorologist. I played different parts pretending to be an eyewitness to Jesus. I confess, I did not put a lot of time into it, but I sure did have fun.

Here is Day 1 Video.

Since filming, I’ve been thinking a bit about my fake eyewitness account. I’ve been wondering how inaccurate it is – I’ve been wondering if it is inaccurate at all. I’m sure when Jesus was hanging out there were plenty of people who only heard and saw about a third of what he said and did. I’m sure there were some folks like the guy I was pretending to be who were a few cards short of a full deck if you know what I mean.

The point is…I don’t know if I have a point. I guess what I’m trying to say is that even those who didn’t get all of Jesus, got some of him. And that’s great.

Wherever you find yourself today that’s where you are, and that’s the most important place you can be. So be there. See what you can see. Listen to what you can hear. And take in as much Jesus as you can.
